At the moment I use good old pen and paper. But am now wanting a mac based program so that I can save and edit my mind maps.

I don't mind paying for it if it is good.

    Any suggestions?

    :)

I use FreeMind, which is free and quite popular. There's also Mindjet MindManager, which is $29.

I have had a look at mindnode and that looks interesting. I am going to have a play around with them and see which one I get on with the best:)

I´m using FreeMind for over 3 months and it is great.

    I think you'll like it.

Ok so I have downloaded freemind, but I can't get it to work. I moved the orange butterfly from the download file to my applications folder. Now when I click on it I get the little purple box that says plan, study etc but nothing else. I have ejected the white download folder off the desktop. any thoughts as to what I have done wrong:)

    Running
To run FreeMind, do one of the following.

in Windows, double click Freemind.exe, or
on any operating system, double click freemind.jar in the lib/ folder of the folder in which FreeMind has been installed.

    http://freemind.sourceforge.net/wiki/index.php/Main_Page

    Hope that helps :D
