Can anyone tell me what is wrong with this screenshot? *BROKEN*

My 17" powerbook suddenly did this (see below) last night out of nowhere. I have restarted it ...shook it... zoomed in and out via universal access, etc....

no avail.. PLEASE HELP

I have a serious hatching/
ghosting effect on the entire screen. contast os awful and it looks as though the entire screen is a hologram.

You need a photo. A screenshot won't show a flaw in the display.

Connect an external display if you can - if it's fine then it's the display itself, otherwise it's GPU.
