I am helping someone to set up an iPhone & iPad for use by an elderly.

I enabled Restriction so to disable the option of installing or deleting apps (even free apps) from the App Store.

However, will these settings in Restriction also disable auto-update of existing apps? I have Auto-Update currently enabled.

Unable to find a consistent answer elsewhere. Tried for over a week but so far I can't tell for sure since the auto-update is silent.

I know from my children’s tablets with those setting enabled, apps will not auto update. Once every few weeks, I have to allow installing apps and when I open the App Store there will be tons of apps with available updates.
