Just got back from the apple store a few hours ago and had a bad experience. I reserved a sim free iPhone 6s plus to pick up from 6:30-7:00 PM. I got there with about a minute to spare and went straight to one of the employees with an iPad to check in. She told me that I got there just in time as they were about to cancel my reservation. So I wait in line for about 15+ mins only to find out the phone I reserved was sold to someone else. The lady with the iPad had to guts to tell me that my reservation was actually at 6:00-6:30 PM and that I was late. After showing her my email confirmation, she just brushed it off and said I was late and said the apple system automatically cancels reservations that are late. This totally contradicts what she told me in the beginning that "they were just about to cancel my reservation". So was the lady just bsing me?

Had a similar experience happen two weeks ago reserved a rose gold 6s plus for my wife we drove an hour and forty minutes there we were early they checked us in kept saying the phone would be right out a half hour later they finally come out and say they don't have it. Manager came over apologizing and offered a free case we left she didn't care about the case she was more upset we were going to spend 3+ hours on the road for nothing I called the manager the next day after having plenty of time to mull it over on the drive home he told me they would have more in a day or two and he would call sure enough to he did but the fact is you have to invest another 3+ hours in the vehicle plus more gas to go get one. I still have s bit of sour taste in my mouth about the whole situation I just find it silly how secretive they are about inventory saying they can't tell you if they have a phone in stock over the phone if they had we wouldn't have wasted half of my only day off a week since she called before we left but they wouldn't tell her if they had it. Really it is just a phone furthermore if you are making these phones to sell why would you not have more stock than they currently do being it has been released for a few weeks and made an announcement of it however long before. I realize it is a popular device but I do believe they might be over exaggerating the supply and demand a bit

Vundu is absolutely right. I would demand a supervisor and would not leave w/o the device I had a written reservation for.

Absolutely! If they can sell your phone to someone else, they can sure as heck sell someone else's phone to you! I would have had to pop a nitro pill if they told me that.

That really sucks. But technically speaking a reserved phone won't show on their inventory and there is no way for Apple to sell a phone as it doesn't show in their system. Example. apple.com showed the model I wanted was available. Went to the apple store before opening, checked apple.com again to make sure it was there, sadly it was gone. Asked Apple sales specialist if they had any and he looked and sadly they didn't have it.

Unless there was a glitch or an issue, they technically shouldn't have sold it and if someone reserves that phone, it temporarily is off their inventory list.
