Before I go ahead and help my friend make a DIY micro sim for his new iPhone 4, to avoid any risk of potentially ending up on and episode of Judge Judy does anyone know if DIY micro sims can at all harm the internals of the phone? Or even somehow cause damage to the sim tray?

We have a micro sim card cutter (the type which looks like a stapler) but the ones we've chopped look a little rough around the edges and we're probably just being overly cautious but would be grateful to hear if anyone has heard of any bad experiences with people making DIY micro sims?

As long as the contacts match and you can get signal, I wouldn't worry too much about it.
