I asked this question on another thread but thought it better have it's own thread -

I was thinking about a Bluetooth enabled FM Transmitter I was using in an old car that was pre bluetooth in car stereos and a thought strike me - Can Bluetooth devices use your mobile data/4G to nefariously call back to base?

Since the FM transmitter device connects to your iPhone via Bluetooth, and your iPhone is always connected to mobile data. Then ould such a BT device, use your net connection to go out over tenet and connect with another server and essentially send back all kinds of data about potentially about your iPhone, location, telemetrics etc. etc.

How would you track this on your iPhone or iOS more secure than this in it's implementation of standard?
