Can "Focus" status be turned off?

I want to silence my devices. But I certainly don't want to broadcast to the whole world that I'm at the cinema, having dinner, sleeping or whatever. What happened to privacy?

Yes, you can change the settings for each focus. You can also change the settings for particular apps (you may want some apps to show it and not others for example)

Apps have to request permission to access your status, just like location or photos or contacts.

Privacy is one of Apple main selling point these days, would be weird if you couldn't turn this off. Nevertheless, always possible they forgot.
