I am exchanging my iPod Touch 32GB at Costco tomorrow for a new one, because the one I had had been acting up. A week and a half ago, it erased all my music and videos, declaring them corrupt and listing them as "other" space on the usage bar (dead space). Last week, it erased all my album art, so all I saw were a bunch of blank covers in cover flow mode. Just this Friday, the thing locked up on me when I tried to launch iPhysics. I am wondering if this is because of the jailbreak, or because of the water I got inside my Touch a while back. Applying my Invisible Shield, I used too much water and some got inside the Touch's screen. I let it dry for a week and it was good to go, but I am unsure if that was the cause of the problems.

Please let me know, as I would hate to have the same thing happen to the new iPod I'll be getting. I need to know if jailbreaking caused the problems I had, or the contact with water did. Thanks!

You can always restore it, which will make it like you just bought it if anthing goes wrong.

But the water probably did do some hardware damage.

Yeah, I restored it and I'm going to tell them it's been locking up and deleting stuff randomly....I put a piece of toilet paper in the headphone jack and it covers the thing completely and realistically.

Thats nice, blame Costco for you trashing a $500 machine. You might want to clean up your ownership style before you get into buying a house or car.

Thanks, I shall take that advice to heart and use it to become a better person.

Agreed. If you bought it from like a little electronics store in a strip mall or something, now that would just be a b**** move.
