Can „homebar“ indicator turned off?

Do you think the displaying of the annyoing new „home“ indicator bar at the bottom screen could be turned off?

You have a big screen and an absolut useless bar on every screen.

i have a feeling it will become an option in a future update. For now, Apple needs it there so people get used to knowing when they can swipe home.

That indicator could at least only show for a few seconds and then disappear when using an app for a longer time.

But an option for completely hiding it is what I'd prefer.
