Can I Add AppleCare now?

I want to add AppleCare now for my iPhone 6+ but when I go to buy it and add it to my cart it deletes it because I'm not buying an iPhone too.

Can I add it now? I know for laptops you get the duration of the 1 year warranty to add it.

You have 60 days from day of purchase. If you already have the phone. You can either call apple so they can run a quick test and add it. Or go into an Apple Store to do it

you have to buy it with the phone if you want to buy it online if you want to purchase it after you have 60 days and it has to be done over the phone or in person
