can I backup a Jailbroken Iphone 3gs

Hi guys, I just successfully competed jailbreaking my iphone 3gs using redsnow, but I was just wondering if it is possible to backup my iphone through itunes now? If I do this will it do any harm to the iphone e.g lock it out

Nope. It will sync as normal. Just don't upgrade your OS through iTunes, then the jailbreak will go away.
