Sorry if this is a dumb question but I can’t find an answer to this question anywhere.

I can’t seem to be able to buy a new phone using Apple’s iPhone Upgrade Program without an existing Verizon account (I want to go with Verizon), but I don’t have one as this is going to be my first phone. Do I have to drive to an Apple store to do this or am I forced to buy through Verizon? Thanks.

Go to Verizon and get a new phone plan. Say you’re bringing your own phone and just want the SIM card when you sign up for the plan. Once you’ve signed up, go to the Apple store and then you’ll be able to sign up for the program. In the US you need to have the carrier log in info in order to sign up for the program
