Can I cancel a preorder if I can get an iPhone 4 in store?

If I preorder now through the Apple Store online do they charge my credit card right away or when it ships? My idea is to preorder it but still try and find one in store and cancel the preorder if I can find one. They charge you when it ships right?

Yep, you can cancel anytime before it ships. They do preauthorize, so the money is taken out temporarily (be careful with debit cards, as this is drawn immediately from your checking account!) but they will do the actual charge once it ships. So if you cancel before then, you should be fully refunded.

What about being qualified as a 'new' line for the 'new' line price? Meaning if they are working my ordered phone through the system and I cancel - will I get the new phone at BB w/ all the discounted prices?
