Exactly. They graphics were nice when it all first came out but after awhile we really don't need technology to look like real world objects anymore. I think we all know what purpose it serves without them now.

I never use a white background for reading, writing text. Especially with these things.

Agreed.. it looks like an old-school txt file. Honestly some of the look of this thing feels kinda retrograde. The blinding white with superthin black text is kinda offputting,

One thing you can do, go to Accessibility options... Set triple click home to invert colors.

Now, when your retinas burn from Ive's paradise of white light, triple click your home button to invert it to white text on black background.

I have to do it all the time, although the colors can clash badly.

On closer appearance, Notes does have a papery texture. I'm going to have to dig into the settings to see what sorts of customization there are. Overall I'm kinda fascinated by all the new stuff and think I'll get used to it, but the white theme is kinda overdone.
