Can I combine Time Capsule and Attached external in time machine?

    My 2TB time capsule is full I have a 3TB external attached to it But I dont see a way to make time machine recognize both and use the 3TB when the internal is full. I switched to the attached drive but it seemed like it was going to do an entire other backup on the external.

    I don't think u can have backups extended in different drives like that. U can however upgrade your 2TB to a 3TB drive.

    What you CAN do, as I have, is to use the USB port to connect more storage. My TC 3 TB is new, but I have added a 2TB hdd for storage and archiving of music, photos etc.

    TC takes care of tHe backups on my three macs, and the network drive is there when I want to put my hands on certain things quickly.
