I bought the iMac about a year ago, but I've recently gotten a new job where I really need to take my computer with me when I go into the office (part-time).

Is there anyway possible to connect a MacBook to an iMac and they work simultaneously? So that anything I do on my iMac will show up on my MacBook? My email is through a network, so that I think can be done, but I wonder about documents.

This is probably an outrageous request, but if I could get a laptop to basically be a mirror image of my iMac, then I'd be in nirvana. Am I way ahead of modern technology here?

The easiest way would be to use the Macbook in target disk mode, keeping all the work related documents on the laptop drive.

If you wanted to make all the programs, such as Mail, use the MacBook, that would be a little harder.

You need an application that will sync your computers. Chronosync is what I've used in a similar situation, and it works well.
