Can I connect my ip4 to ipad 2?

I am waiting (along with a lot of others) for my ipad 2. I am trying to find out if the ip4 can be connected directly to the ipad itunes, or any other apps on the ipad. I was hoping to direct transfer pictures or apps etc. maybe dowload a movie on one then transfer to the other. I know I can tether, but I am not looking for that. I was hoping that the itunes on the ipad would recognize the iphone connected to it.

You can import photo and video via the camera connection kit.
