Hi

At the beginning of July, I purchased an SX Max, through Apple with Citizens One Financing. Can I convert the purchase to Apple IUP or do I need to purchase a new phone? I might like to upgrade after 12 payments.

Thanks

Did you choose the first option or the 3rd option depending on the carrier? I choose Verizon just for the screen shot but not sure what carrier you are going through. But if you did the Apple iPhone Payments option, you cannot upgrade on a yearly basis. I don't think you can convert it from that to an Apple iUP. You may need to chat with them and see what answers you get.

99%+ sure you'll have to purchase a new phone and take a new loan on that hone to get into the IUP. In that case you'll also need to figure out what to do with your current phone. Keep it and keep paying the loan, pay off the loan and sell it, pay off the loan and trade it to Apple on the new phone...

Which is the better option through apple or verizon? (forget the upgrade program)

Personal opinion: I've been on VZW for 30 years. I'd far rather deal with Apple than Verizon. I did scan the pricing this morning and they appeared to be the same, but Verizon would have required me to open a new line to get their deal. Apple, obviously, doesn't care. But the real reason is that Apple's customer service, and their return policy (in real life), is infinitely better to deal with, in my long experience.

What do you mean open a new line?

Add a new phone line (phone number) to my existing account. And I don't think they mean cancel one of my existing lines and sign up for a replacement, but I didn't look into the details. Too many bad experiences dealing with VZW and new phones.
