Paying the $199 to have Apple replace the battery on my 2015 rMB is what I'm going to do as well. My battery indicator has had the "service recommended" indicator for a few years and only lasts a couple hours on a good day. It will also drain overnight to nearly empty if unplugged. But other than the battery, it still works perfectly as my main personal computer. I'm also planning to buy a vastly more powerful workhorse/music creation/gaming system in the next few months, possibly an MSI or Lenovo Legion. But that will be heavy. This little rMB just can't be beat for grab and go portability, so it's worth the battery replacement. And yes, I still love the keyboard!

I replaced the battery in my 2015 MBP 13" a couple weeks ago with a Ninjabatt. Mainly due to the good reviews. So, far it's performed well. I removed the old battery with dental floss to cut the adhesive. Which was easier than I expected.

My MacBook air always states that because they want me to buy, or better yet, have them replace the battery, when i personally know the battery is just fine.
The techie in Cupertino who designed that warning probably received a small raise and a promotion.

My battery indicator was at 'service recommended' for a couple of years in total, but I think being plugged into a dock more or less all the time during lockdown finished it off. When I first started getting the battery error I was getting a good couple of hours on battery still but, just before I got it replaced, that had failed to about half an hour or so, and it went very suddenly regardless of what the battery indicator said (very frequently 50% or so).
