Can I display the date in my menu bar?

I've got a late 2012 27" iMac and wanted to know if there was a way to display the date in the menu bar at the top where the time is?

Display the Date on the Menubar

I've gone back and forth of wanting this in the menu bar... or just keeping it more "minimal". I've since trained myself to just naturally look at the iCal icon... but it does require unhiding it.
