I have the BASE of the mid-2011 iMac and I was wondering if I could somehow trade it in, and get a better upgraded one.

I am out of the "bring back" period. :/

There is a 14-day return policy. If you're out of the 14 days, you're out of luck.

Lets hope this thing breaks and I get a new machine. Maybe pay an extra $300 for a better one. ;)

How do you figure that? If it breaks they'll fix it. They won't upgrade it.

Just buy another one and then you'll have two.

And if they can't fix it, they'll replace it with one of their many 2011 refurbs of the same specs.

Craigslist or eBay is the way to go.

be happy you have a imac,

I got a 2008 imac and mac book and im okay with it.

Might be slow at times but its fine.

also upgrade you imac I would max the ram out first!

    Ram 16gb for $109.99 USD DDR3 World Computing/1333DDR3S16S/
The ram you just pop the little door on the bottom off.

I remend owc ram, I have it in my macbook and its very nice. best ram I ever had!

Now the harddrive is another operation (I'd recomend hardrive SSD only if you need it but in reality most don't)
    Western Digital
    2.0TB Caviar® Black Hard Disk Drive for $229.99 Digital/WD2002FAEX/

Driver kit to open and take apart imac

    Suction cups for the screeen

The guide to replace the HDD
