Is there a way for me to get different output for different apps? For example, I use my tv as a second monitor and want my itunes music to play thorough my tv but I still want everything else played through my mac. Not sure if this is the right place to post this so sorry in advance. Any help would be very much appreciated!

NeatMonster - the short answer is no, on OS X at least, there is not an 'official' way to set a specific playback device for iTunes that is not the system default.

NeatMonster i don't know what would be the right answer of your query. One thing i found very interesting here that you are a bit tricky and odd with your ideas to use the things in a new way. :)
