The wireless "bug" happens now to me a few times a day and its annoying. It will disconnect...search...reconnect again and again sometimes and it sucks. This seems to have happened only after i updated to 10.5.3. Is there ANY way i can go back without a backup?
Thanks!

i seem to have my wifi woes fixed:

removed the com.apple.airport.preferences.plist & removed my home wifi from the airport network preferred settings then reboot

also
brought down my wifi network and then started over with the same settings

i have now been 24 hours with no trouble *knocks on wood*

i think it has something to do with the encryption because i could hook up to unsecured wifi with no trouble while having trouble with my modest wep security and mac compare.

Odd, 10.5.3 seemed to have *fixed* that issue for me. Could be a coincidence, but I don't think it's cropped up for me since upgrading.

Uh, as for downgrading, the one way I know for sure would work is backing everything up, erasing the drive, installing 10.5 off the install disc, upgrading to 10.5.2, and restoring from the backup, but that's really time-consuming.

Does anyone know if one can "Archive and Install" off the Leopard disc to downgrade? I would guess you could, but I've never tried it.

yeah i know many used to have that problem but i got it right when i updated to 5.3 so i mite try what the first replier said.

ive also noticed this problem only occurs when in desktop mode. It hasn't ever happened when i've normally used the macbook. But it happens like once or twice a day. and what was the com.apple thing you deleted. I can't find it!

Easiest way to get to it:
1. From the Finder, select the Go menu -> Go to Folder
2. type "/Library/Preferences/" (minus quotes) and press enter. The file should be in there.

weird...that folder or file isn't there?? i went in the preferences but no airport there.

Oops! I just double-checked. The folder I should have given you is "/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/".

Sorry about that.
