This has probably been asked before but I can’t find the definitive answer.

I’m trying to launch a shortcut I’ve created on my iPhone to start a particular application (sky news on now tv on my Apple TV) by saying it using me Apple TV voice remote control.

It doesn’t work via the remote control but I can launch it using ‘hey Siri’ on my iPhone. I’m assuming what I’m trying isn’t possible but I wondered if I’m missing something?

If not possible - does anyone have any tips to start sky news or now tv using voice via the voice remote control. All permutations I’ve tried seem fruitless.

Many thanks!

John.

Wow, I didn’t know this was possible. To be clear, you’re using Siri on the iPhone for a Shortcut to turn on the TV and go straight to Sky News?

Yeah, I didn't know this was possible either. Is Sky News playing directly on your Apple TV or is it being AirPlayed from your iPhone?

I’m using it via this app.

The shortcut I’ve created launches sky news via now tv when I ask it to on my iPhone.

Ideally I’d like it to launch directly via me asking on my voice remote - but I’m not sure that’s possible.
