I am wondering if you can somehow lock a folder so that if you try to open it asks you for a password on mac os x leopard

Use disk utility to make a disk image (DMG) that is password protected. Store your porn in the DMG.

Make it a sparse disk image so it only takes up as much space as you need. Mmm... Porn.

I almost needn't comment that everyone saw straight through the purposeful vagueness in this post...

...but thank you for the answer to this...

Notice how you said "too" as in, "as well."

Perhaps everyone is, in fact, a perv.

Holy crap, do you guys search the forums before posting a question? *sigh* This has now been answered in 5 separate threads!!

    Two ways:

    1. Use Disk Utility to create an encrypted .dmg containing your content
    2. Use either of these two pieces of software:
    a) http://www.dekorte.com/projects/shareware/Crypt/
    b) http://www.apimac.com/secret_folder/index.php

You might want to make a MacRumors guide on this.

I wasn't aware of the thread name search feature until today.
