How can I manually turn my 2.53 uni-mbp fan on? It gets really hot on my lap
The best program I found for this is smcFanControl. My MBP gets hot sometimes and that lets you kick the fans into 6000rpm, before that my fans would stay at 2000rpm even if the temp increased. Now my temps stay about 50c even under heavy loads. Careful not to leave it at 6000rpm all the time or the lifetime of the fans will drop quickly. I use 4000rpm for normal use and 6000 rpm if my temps go above 60c.
I second SMC fan control but I think that it messes with the firmware so I dont use it i am to scared
just what i'm looking for...thanks!
wow, guess i'm a minute early on my post....anyone else know of this firmware issue?
Not that I know of, if you leave it at "default" it will behave the same as normal.
