Can I move a HD+install from one machine to another?

Hi All,

My new MBP will be arriving today to replace my MB.

In the MB, I had already upgraded to a high-end 7200 RPM HD which has Leopard and all of my apps/data on it. I'd be interested in keeping this install/setup.

Can I simply (well, as simply as a HD swap is in a MBP!!) swap the existing drive into the MBP and begin using it? Does OSX hardcode hardware drivers/etc. into the OS like Winbloze does, or will it take the hardware changes in-stride?

As long as the drive is compatible, it's plug & play.
