iPod touch Can I please have some assistance?

Hello, For some reason today the home button on my ipod touch does not work anymore. No matter how hard I press it I can not exit out of the screen I am in. Lets say to example safari to exit out of safari you need to press the home button but that does not work so I am stuck there. The only way to exit a App is to power on/off. Is there anyway to fix the home button without returning it to the store?. I have tried restoring the ipod and turning it on and off already.

looks like you need to take it to apple.

i mean try a restore. but if you have your button may be broken
