Can I put the video card from my G5 MacPro in my newer (late2010) MacPro?

    Can the video card from a Mac Pro G5 be used as a secondary video card in a Mac Pro from 2010

    The last PowerMac's made had PCI-E video cards, but they still cannot be used because they have a PowerPC only OpenFirmware ROM.

    I doubt it would be worth it. An 8800GT goes for what, $30 or something? And the DA from a PPC mac is bound to be several orders of magnitude slower than an 8800GT. :p

    Maybe not my overclocked to 450 core 7800GTX?

    Kewl, Didn't know that card was available for the PPC machines. Oh well, there's a lot I dunno. :)

    Still, what do those sell for now, $20 or so right?

    It's worth it to you to hunt and/or mod ROMs and flash a $20 card?
