Can the video card from a Mac Pro G5 be used as a secondary video card in a Mac Pro from 2010
In a word - No!
The last PowerMac's made had PCI-E video cards, but they still cannot be used because they have a PowerPC only OpenFirmware ROM.
You could flash it to EFI ROM.
I doubt it would be worth it. An 8800GT goes for what, $30 or something? And the DA from a PPC mac is bound to be several orders of magnitude slower than an 8800GT.
No, they can't.
Maybe not my overclocked to 450 core 7800GTX?
Kewl, Didn't know that card was available for the PPC machines. Oh well, there's a lot I dunno.
Still, what do those sell for now, $20 or so right?
It's worth it to you to hunt and/or mod ROMs and flash a $20 card?
