Can I record a .wav file?

Got a new phone system at work and we need to create a .wav recording for the messages as it can't be done on the actual phone system itself I believe.

Whats the best way to do this please?

You could probably get away with a USB microphone into GarageBand. Export as .wav and Bob’s your uncle (whatever that means).

He wouldn't even need a USB microphone. His Mac already has a one. Alternatively, record a Voice Memo on an iPhone and AirDrop it to the Mac.

Yes, your Macbook Pro has a built in microphone. Just open Quicktime and do a sound recording.

File > New Audio Recording. Then, select the input to be "Input Microphone". You will get an .m4a file. Then, you can convert it to .wav probably using iTunes.

Yep sorted thanks.

Used QT and did an audi recording. Imported it in to iTunes, changed the settings I needed and then converted it. Bingo.
