I don't think so. I think you can only restore to 6.0.1, the current version

Basically, its this. There's not much difference between 6.0 and 6.0.1 anyway. 6.0.1 is essentially 6.0 + bug fixes, so it's better in a way. No harm if you go with it.

Why can't you edit your hosts file? For PC, go to windows file -> System32 file

Windows 8 sucks, from my POV. I rather buy a secondhand Windows 7 PC now than a new W8 PC with touchscreen.
