Hi, this may be a simple question. But can I restore my iPad 2 (yes iPad 2, not Air 2, the 2nd iPad!) and not have any issues when it tries to reboot/reload?

I assume it won't try and install the new iTunes and bust it? It will just restore and install the iOS that is available for that device?

I'll be selling it so just want to make sure I can restore without bricking it...!

Thanks.

AFAIK, you can restore the device but only on device. Never use iTunes to restore or you will be updated to whatever the latest iOS iPad 2 can support, which is iOS 9.

Yes.

Probably the best way is to just update it to the latest iOS: 9.3.5 ( iPad 2 will not go any higher )
Then Erase All Content and Settings: Settings > General > Reset ( right column, bottom ) > Erase All Content and Settings

Finally, double check, that the iPad 2 has been removed from your iCloud account. Log into iCloud.com > Find My iPhone and verify that it is no longer attached to your account.

Thanks for the replies! I shall erase all contents later and ensure it's removed from the account.
