Can I restore/upgrade a non-activated VZW iPhone?

Switched to T-Mobile 5s. Wondering if I can restore and update to iOS7 on my non-activated Verizon iPhone? Its synced to my iTunes and I want to erase everything and get rid of it. Thanks.

As long as you have your sim card in your phone slot it should be okay.
