I bought a new MBP at the Apple Store nearby last week. The first day I had it I dropped my alarm clock on it, resulting in a small dent.

Am I able to return this, or exchange it for another?

Any cosmetic damage invalidates the return option. Of course, you may try, but it's not just unethical to do but they will almost certainly refuse to refund you.

Hey, I know! I was just curious.

Also, It is only a small cosmetic issue. The computer runs fine and there are no other issues.

I bought a new BMW last week and somebody side-swiped me. The car still runs perfectly, but do you think the dealership will exchange it for a new one

So in other words, you want a Mac free of cosmetic damage, which was caused by yourself?

You had it until the alarm clock incident, so why should Apple replace that?

That's like returning a good meal, from which you already took a bite, but still want another one. You can certainly get that other meal, but that would involve lying.
