Can I run Bootcamp from an external SSD drive on multiple mac computers?
I have a 2017 iMac and Macbook Pro.

Microsoft doesn't really allow that with Windows, at least not the Home version. I don't know what their policy is for other versions. Booting externally isn't officially supported by Windows, but there do exist workarounds to make that work. But when Windows detects you boot on a different hardware configuration it won't be happy. You'll have to constantly re-activate and it might eventually complain you run out of activations and need a new license

First you have to install Windows on the SSD. You can't do it with Bootcamp, but you can use Hasleo's WinToUSB.
I can't speak to what would happen with your activation, though.

If you don't need the full power of your computer, you could use the Personal Licence version of VMWare, which is free, and install a Virtual Machine with Windows on it. That should be able to run on two machines.
