If I transfer my entire picture folder on my drive which is where IPhoto and others use that directory delete the contents afterwards after ensuring the data is on the other computer? I want to free up my laptop drive and one way is this sine my wife uses her PC to do the photo editing. I want to ensure I do not delete any necessary directories. Thanks!!

i guess if you copy the whole folder, it should work out just fine.

back in the day you made your own directories, macs should still work without them. In fact that is what they would like to be known for: working.
