It works very well, and it is very fast. I have uploaded images to Flickr from EDGE and WiFi, and the photos where on Flickr in under 2 minutes. Like I said it is pretty cool.

GREAT photos in really good lighting...

#1 My grandparents (95 &93!) sitting accross from me at dinner last night.
#2 My wife siting next to me at restaurant
#3 Me at the controls of the largest optical telescope in the world (LBT)

Wow what a job, Talk about a zoom lens. I would love to see some more pictures of the facility.

This is the telescope right. BTW not taken with an iPhone.

I'm pretty pleased with the camera. I mean it's not my nikon D200 but for snapping some quick shots it's great.

Well here are two photos I've taken with my iPhone. Sorry about the monitor's lines, but the photo is pretty sharp. It's me booting up my old Macintosh Performa 6116CD. :D

The second photo is of a set of clouds I took in the evening. :)

I'm showing my ignorance here - but why DO monitors show up like that when on film/being photographed? Is it something to do with the refresh-rate differences or something? Nice Performa - I used to have a 6200.

Actually that's pretty much the answer, it's the refresh rate. If the camera has advanced settings or modes you can probably manage to take a photo without it. But the iPhone does not have any of these features (or maybe not even the hardware in the lens to do so). :)

Yes, it is the "Large Binocular Telescope" on Mt. graham in Safford, AZ.
Here is a picture of my wife's reflection in one of the two 8.5 meter mirrors (non-iPhone). And an iPhone picture (full size from iPhone) of her underneath it to show it's size.

BTW: It's not MY job. It's nice top have friends in high places (10,000+ ft.)!

My god, those pictures are FANTASTIC! Clearly the optics are MUCH better than any standard camera phone on the market (particularly my O2 Atom Life!). It also seems it's using some sort of algorithm similar to the "Enhance" button in iPhoto because the colours look great.

I have a 10 mp canon SLR, I still appreciate the quick 2 mp handy on th ephone, big screen too.

No way that dark picture of the sky was taken with an iPhone. Are you serious?

I can't get mine to look that good with night shots. It's always really dark with bad lighting, but lighted areas and during the day photos are amazing on the iPhone.

Can I make an attempt at most interesting photos taken with an iPhone so far?

I give you...ROBOSAURUS!!

Taken (in the rain) at the Ain't It Cool News / Alamo Drafthouse screening of Transformers last night. (7/2/07)
