I have an iPhone 3GS with a genuine 4.2.1 iOS.

I was going to downgrade right after I upgraded but I got very busy.

I have my 4.1 shsh blobs -- can I still downgrade to 4.1 (I need 4.1 for the AT&T carrier tethering hack)? How do I do this?

I'm getting error 22 when I use my custom restore ipsw and another (I think it was 1015) when I use the 4.1 IPSW from http://www.felixbruns.de/iPod/firmware/ .

I have "3354604965262-iphone-4.1.shsh" in ~/.shsh and TinyUmbrella does see that.

Anything I can do to get down to 4.1 again?

After you're done with the restore and get the error message go to TU and click "kick device out of recovery".
After that the iphone should boot up with 4.1 installed.

Ah, sweet! Thanks! I'll try now. 🙂

Should I use the custom restore that I made, or a generic one for my specific iPhone model (3GS)?

For 4.1, what is the best way tethering hack available? Edit the mobilconfig file?

Either one ipsw will do.
About tethering my favorite is MyWi.
