I was on the fence for a good day about buying this watch since Apple would only give me $155 for my Stainless Steel 45mm.

However, cashforyourmac offered me $270 and that sealed the deal for an upgrade.

In order to get this watch on release date, I had to go with a band I was not crazy about.

When I get this watch, can I go to the Apple store and swap it out for one of the trail bands if I want to at no charge?

Apple doesn't do that. You'll have to buy a band if you want a different one.

Appreciate the answer. Thank You. Looks like I am stuck with the band, though it's far from bad.

They used to do that...when series 1 launched. I needed to do that to get the XL sized band. I'm not sure anymore; I've heard not...they make you exchange the whole watch instead.

Officially, this requires a return when doing it with the normal Series watches. No clue if they’ll allow it for Ultra. But typically, people here report you can ask within the 14 day window of returns and they’ll do it but need to scan it for a return exchange on paper.

Just sell it if you don’t like it. I ordered it with the alpine white. If I don’t like it I will sell it and buy another one. Unless Apple is getting more flexible with their processes.

What about just swapping the band for the same one of a different size?
Because he bought it with the watch as a bundle. Not sure Apple let’s you swap the band even if your did not open it as it is part of the bundle. You may need to return the whole pack and reorder the watch with the expected band. Not sure but this is my guess.
