I have a braided watch band and it seems to be losing some of its tension. When I bought it it was a perfect fit, but now it getting a bit loose.

I thought about steaming it, but I hope someone has a better fix?

Why not return it? I don't personally approve of people taking advantage of Apple's generous return policy (ordering one of each new Watch color/casing, for example, only to return the ones they don't like) but in this case, it seems that Apple should be held accountable: you bought a size 7 band (or whatever) and now it's a size 8, due to normal wear and tear through daily usage. You bought a size 7, and now you have a size 8. The product you have now is NOT equivalent to the one you purchased, through no fault of your own. The onus is on Apple to remedy the situation (in my opinion).

If Apple wants to sell bands so uniquely fitted to each person (sizing strips, etc) then they have a responsibility to ensure that the fit remains consistent for the life of the product, or at least until the warranty period expires.

I like your idea, but it's not that bad yet. I still may do it down the road.

Try washing it. I've done both:
- hand wash in hot water with a bit of Dawn. Air dry flat.
- stick in pants pocket and run it through the washer and dryer.

I have several of the braided solo loops, and I've found that the older colors, like abyss blue and inverness green, seem to stretch out more than the newer colors. Washing will usually tighten them up again. For a while.

Sounds like a plan.

You mean one of those large bags for travel or something I don't know about?

That's what a garment bag is, but what he meant was a mesh bag for delicates - it would prevent the weave of the watch band from catching on other items (buttons, zippers) in the wash.

Thank you for explaining. I didn’t get notified about OP’s reply.
