Looking for some help please...

I have bought a new iPad, and I am trying to transfer a magazine app with about 40Gb of purchased magazines, but if I try and backup my current iPad & restore to my new iPad, only the magazine app itself gets restored, not the 40Gb (5 years worth) of purchased magazines...

Is there any 3rd party software that can do the job of transferring the magazine app, including the magazines, to my new iPad?

I could re-download them, but I don't have fast broadband, and it would take me a month to re-download them...I can't believe that this is impossible to do...

One of the reasons why I am not a fan of iTunes...

I did do a search for some software to transfer/backup/restore apps, but all the ones I have seen so far (I don't mind paying) just seem to deal with music/photos/video...not apps...

Can anyone help, and recommend some software that also transfers/backs up Apps?

Thanks!

I feel your pain. I don't think it is related to iTunes - many magazines sell content as an in-app purchase and those I think often need to be restored within the app after it was installed on a new device. ITunes does save more content when you encrypt your backup, but I am not sure if in-app purchases are included then. Have you tried a restore via an encrypted backup already?
Best success anyway and let us know how it worked out!
Cheers,
E.

It's so frustrating...None of the 3rd party software programs I have found appear to be able to fully backup IOS Apps for IOS 9+

I don't know if it is some sort of restriction Apple have built into IOS 9, but so far, all of the software options I have looked at, and tried, all say basically the same thing, App data backup is not supported in IOS9+

Thanks for the suggestion about attempting an encrypted backup...I hadn't realised that Apple includes more content in an encrypted backup, so I shall try that right now...but I cannot believe that it is this difficult!

Assuming the encrypted backup doesn't work, does anyone have any more suggestions? or 3rd party software recommendations?

Thanks :)

Did you try to contact the App developer? Maybe they have some utility to backup your purchases? Or maybe you can get a definitive answer "Yes!" or "No! you can't do that"

Thanks,

I have just emailed the support department of the app owner...

However, I have basically come to the realisation that nothing I do is going to achieve what I want...which is very frustrating, and I'm sure it all comes down to iTunes/IOS 9...

I stopped buying paper magazines about 5 years ago, and just purchased them via iPad apps...I now wonder, in hindsight, if that was not the smart idea it appeared to be at the time...

I think it's time to go back to paper...at least I'll not have this frustration in the future, if I do...

Thanks for the suggestions :)

I think once you find a restore option and have access to a quick WiFi you should be able to re-download so at least the content isn't lost, just takes a bit more time to retrieve.
