Can I turn off cellular on Apple Watch without cancelling plan?

I want to try my watch with cellular OFF, to see if the burning pain stops. I think it will since I’ve never had this problem before. I don’t want to cancel the actual cellular service until I know if this is the issue.

Is there a way to turn off the cellular just to the device?

swipe up from the watch face to open Control Center. Tap the cellular button , then turn Cellular on or off

Wow. I have been trying to do from settings, and having no luck.
