Can I turn off dvd drive access when waking

I have a macbook pro and use the functionality to enter sleep when the laptop lid is closed, when I open the lid it wakes up from sleep, however the machine always makes a noise trying to access the superdrive. Is there a way to turn this off? I would like it to be a silent wake from sleep.

Only by disconnecting the drive, which I don't think you want to do. Just accept that it's your computer's way of stretching when it wakes up. 😉
