Can I unlock a new iPhone?

They go on sale in 10 days, and I sure don't want to spend £35 per month. Can I unlock the current iPhones so that I don't have to enter into a contract with O2?

Depends on the software on the U.K. iPhone. I don't think anyone will be able to answer this question until we know what version it is.

probably not, rumours around that the phones may be released with the next version of firmware - next one up from 1.1.1, even with 1.1.1 some phones got bricked...try getting hold of a 1.0.2 - im happy with it and theres plenty of 3rd party apps that work great on it too. up to you though. its why i got one imported, wasnt gona spen £269 and then £35 a month for network that hasnt even rolled out edge everywhere yet.🙄
