I got a macbook pro mid 2009 , Processor 2.8 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, Memory 8 GB 1067 MHz DDR3

Can I upgrade to el capitan or higher..?

The max Apple supported OS for a mid 2009 MBP is El Captain (10.11.6).

Is there a "InstallMacOSX.pkg" in the Downloads folder? Which web browser are you using?

Hi,

I managed to download el capitan, installed it successfully, restarted the macbook and am still on 10.8.5...any suggestions..?
