Can I upgrade my MacPro 2008 Quad Core to a 6-Core Intel Xeon?

My 2008 is still pretty quick. But every once in a while it might need a kick in the butt.

Is there a way to switch out my Quad Cores to 6-Core Intel Xeon's? I've never done it before but I'm pretty handy with electronics.

You may be able to upgrade to 2 x 3.0 quad, but the difference would be insignificant enough that it wouldn't be worth it.

I grabbed a pair of E5472 they have better TDP.

Only SLANZ stepping is supported. SLB** won't work.
