Can I use 7mm HDD on MBP? Benefit?

Is 7mm HDD compatible with MBP? I know it will fit in as it's smaller(not larger) than standard 9.5mm, but I'm worried about the extra space, will it make some flex? Thanks!

Doesn't the bracket hold the HDD in place, thus being thinner shouldn't matter? What do you mean by flex?
