Can I use a Dell UltraSharp UP3218K 8k display with an eGPU?

Hi,

is there a way to drive the Dell UltraSharp UP3218K at 60hz with a MacBook Pro and an eGPU? It requires DisplayPort 1.4 which the MacBook Pro itself does not support. Can I add that functionality by using an eGPU though?

Only at 30Hz in macOS unfortunately.
Windows in BootCamp will do 8K60 just fine.
