I'm in 2 minds about getting another mac or changing to a DELL XPS 13. I love Macs but I'm going to need to use Windows apps for business. If I buy a Mac and install Boot Camp can I then install any Windows software that exists?

I need to be able to do this otherwise I'll have to buy the DELL. I've heard that excel on a Mac is not the same as excel on Windows ie its better and you can do more things in the Windows version.

Although I do like the XPS 13.

    Can anyone help?

    OK, you're asking different things.
First of all, Bootcamp is really just a fancy term for "we let you install windows as well on the Mac". The windows installation is like any other installation, except you will probably want to have Apples drivers installed so that you use multitouch and stuff.
Second, yeah, Excel for Mac doesn't have stuff like Macros, so the Windows version is "better" that way. You can install the windows version in bootcamp, though.

About installing "every program for windows", no machine is going to be able to promise that. For example, you won't be able to install some of the serverapps that require Titanium. You won't be able to install some DOS-apps that work directly with the BIOS, cause it doesn't have BIOS.

I defy you to find a program in everyday use in 2009 that won't install and run fine, though. Heavy games excluded.

No need to buy the XPS, everything works in your case. The only issue is if you're using A/V software such as Cubase which is mostly down to Apple's poor drivers/utilities.

Well if I can use Microsoft apps on a Mac then I think I'll Get the Mac. I suppose it's just a matter of how much space on my HD I allocate in Boot Camp.

    So my final question:

    MacBook Pro 13"
    MacBook Pro 15"
    DELL XPS 13
    DELL XPS 16

I'll prob go for the smaller size in with but the larger sizes do offer some cool specs. The XPS 16 has Blu Ray, TV tuner etc.
