can I use MBP card reader w canon HF 200 card

Can I take the !6 gig sdhc class 6 card from my Canon HF200 and put it directly into my macbook pro card reader and into Imovie 09 ?
Or do I have to use the USB connected to the camera and power source?

The card reader should work if its an SDHC card.

Thanks Miles. It works, in that I end up with a folder on my desktop, but I'm not sure how to bring that into imovie 09

I don't use iMovie, but there should be some kind of "Import" option. Or if you dig through that folder on your desktop you might find a video file that you can drag into iMovie.

Got it! It works. Damn thats cool! Because with the Canon HF200 if you transfer footage using the camera the camera has to be connected to power
not just the battery. But this means you can transfer to computer anywhere.
